Apple Workers Quit Apple To Earn Money Creating Apps For Apple

Regardless of what you think about Apple’s products, it’s an undeniable fact that with their iOS mobile phone operating system, a new environment for development exists for developers to create a good money making app. The system has significantly expanded the mobile development sector, and major engineers from the top firms are quitting their jobs to find methods to make money on iOS.  The issue is Apple have now become their own enemy in some respects, as many Apple workers are also leaving their jobs in large numbers to set up their own companies dedicated to creating iOS apps.

Lars Albright is the creator of Quattro, a startup company specialising in advertising that was taken over by Apple in 2009.  He joined Apple to help meet its growing demand of app developers.  Since then he has quit Apple so he can set up his own business to make money with iPhone apps aiming to assist other developers keeping customers using their apps. Although he is the most senior person to leave in this manner, Apple’s problem is that he is one of many.

Looking at many of the applications the former employees of Apple have created indicates the departures may be helping Apple indirectly. Among the companies is Flipboard, the developers of the impressive iPad magazine app, as well as Inkling, the creators of textbooks for iPad.

Although it’s convenient to label the exodus of important engineers negatively, it seems the iPhone manufacturer has the foresight to see that keeping ex-workers on friendly terms can be highly beneficial, especially when it comes to developing apps for iPhone and iPad in new markets.

According to Business Week, former employees may assist Apple get into the new markets. Chuck Goldman was responsible for the technical outreach program for business customers up until 2009. The Boston based company he created, Apperian, bills companies such as Progressive, Cisco and many others as much as $20,000 per month for the creation and management of apps for the iPad and iPhone to be used by workers.

Former workers are achieving for Apple things that they’ve tried to do for a long time. It would seem that the Apple alumni members are as useful to Apple as their regular paid employees.
